Large turnout of journalists at Petrotech 2019 Media Curtain Raiser
The Media Curtain Raiser for the 13th International Oil and Natural Gas Conference and Exhibition – Petrotech 2019, witnessed a large turnout of journalists, both from print and electronic channels.
The Curtain Raiser was held on 31 January 2019 at PIB, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi.
The biennial event Petrotech 2019 is being organized by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) this year, along with FIPI under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The Curtain Raiser was jointly chaired by Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) Mr. Sunjay Sudhir, Chairman of Organizing Committee for Petrotech 2019 and Director (Exploration) ONGC Mr. A K Dwivedi, Add. Director General PIB Mr. Y. K. Baweja IIS and ED-Chief Corporate Communications (CC) ONGC Mr. Pallab Bhattacharya.

Petrotech 2019 is scheduled during 10 – 12 February 2019 at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The tagline for this year is ‘Confluence of Energy’ and the theme is - Shaping the new Energy world through innovation and collaboration.
The International Conference is expected to be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. This year, around 86 prominent speakers are invited, 7000 plus delegates are expected to attend the event. Along with the conference, the event will have an Exhibition, which is expected to witness around 750 exhibitors.
The Media Curtain Raiser witnessed participation of about 80 plus media persons, from all fields like print, electronic, etc. Joint Secretary (IC) Mr. Sunjay Sudhir delivered a presentation on what all has been planned for Petrotech 2019. He apprised the audience that Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi, Minister for External Affairs Ms. Sushma Swaraj and other senior ministers are expected to attend the event. He briefed the audience about various Plenary, Theme, Ministerial sessions that have been planned. He also, exhorted that Digitalization has been focused upon this year.
The process of registration was explained to the journalists by Mr. Vivek Mehrotra. For ease, the whole process has been set up online through website www.petrotech.in and email registration.
Media facilities were explained in detail by I/C CC External Mr. Sanjay Kumar Joshi. Registration desk has been arranged along with a help desk. Media rooms and studios have been set up to conduct one-on-one interviews, 30 work stations, media kits, wifi availability, connection points, large venue maps, have been arranged for convenience of media personnel. Everyday media briefing has been planned to keep them updated with the important information. Petrotech shuttles have also been arranged by ONGC for media persons. The event started with welcome remarks from ED-Chief CC Mr. Pallab Bhattacharya . He briefed the audience about the line up for Petrotech 2019. The event was organized to deliver the snapshot of what has been planned for Petrorech 2019, the largest petro fair of South Asia he added.
Post the presentations, journalists interacted to answer their queries like how many Ministers, Countries and delegates have confirmed their participation. JS (S) IC replied that they have received confirmation of 13 Country Pavilions,18 International Ministers and 7000 Delegates.
