Post – Lunch Parallel Sessions are dedicated to the finals of the following off-circuit activities that commence six months prior to the event:
1.0 International Business Simulation Games Final [ Group Activity ]
Three finalists are selected through a competition on the e – Platform and compete in this session. The winners are adjudged jointly by an eminent jury and the participants with a 50 % weight-age assigned to each.
The winning team will constitute the ‘WPC Youth Experts Group’ and will work on a project assigned to it and funded by the WPC or a donor sponsor. This will be presented at the next WPC Youth Forum / WPC whichever is earlier.
2.0 Technical Projects [ Group / Individual Activity ]
Technical projects of relevance to the Hydrocarbon Industry are invited. A jury is constituted to examine the proposals and short-lists three projects that are to be presented. These projects are also posted on the website for the network community to grade / respond.
The finalists present their projects in this Parallel Session. The winners are adjudged jointly by an eminent jury and the participants with a 50 % weight-age assigned to each.
The winning project is funded by the Indian Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB) / WPC + OIDB / Donor sponsor and its findings are presented at the next WPC Youth Forum / WPC whichever is earlier.
3.0 The PETROTECH – WPC Youth Forum Debate [ Individual Activity ]
Papers are invited on a subject such as “Peak Oil – are we over the hump yet?” – Both for and against responses are invited. Six finalists are chosen [ three for & three against the motion ]
These are debated in this Parallel Session. The winner is adjudged jointly by an eminent jury and the participants with a 50 % weight-age assigned to each.
The Winners are awarded a medal and a substantial cash prize.
4.0 The Ethical Corporation – Case Analysis [ Group Activity ]
The concept is to present a Case Study on Ethics and Sustainable Development and its relevance to Business and invite participation in a Case analysis through the website.
Three finalists present their case analysis in this Parallel Session. The winners are adjudged jointly by an eminent jury and the participants with a 50 % weight-age assigned to each.
The winners will constitute the “WPC Youth Experts Group on Sustainable Development & Ethics” and will work framing a ‘Model Code of Conduct’. The study could be funded by the WPC or a donor sponsor. This will be presented at the next WPC Youth Forum / WPC whichever is earlier.
