Letter of Invitation

Warm Greetings !

I whole-heartedly welcome all of you to PETROTECH-2012. The 10th edition of the International Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition, is being organized at New Delhi during 14th-17th October 2012 by Indian Oil Corporation Limited, under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India & Petrotech.

The petroleum and gas sector is amongst the most evolving of sectors in the Indian economy today. With more than a billion people, structural demographic shifts resulting in exploding consumption and demand growing, India represents one of the most exciting oil markets in the world today. The PETROTECH series of International Conferences and Exhibitions showcase the status of the Indian Oil and gas industry to the world. Over the years, PETROTECH has gained importance as it brings together industry professionals, Government officials, Strategists, Academicians, EPC firms, Suppliers, Vendors and all those involved in providing energy security to the country and the world at large, on a common platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the industry.

The way forward for us is to balance sustainable development and investments, both in conventional hydrocarbon assets and alternative energy. Even as time runs out of options, we have to closely look at energy which is outside the conventional landscape of Hydrocarbons. While we grapple at reducing transmission loss and inefficiency of energy use, we also need to seriously explore alternatives in solar, wind power and bio-fuels. It is here that Petrotech can show the way. By showcasing technologies, sharing solutions and building new paradigms for lasting answers that will sustain over a billion Indians in the future.

The growth path looks promising for the oil industry and I am confident that the theme of PETROTECH-2012, 'Hydrocarbon and Beyond: Changing Landscape', will generate an engaging debate and enable the Oil and Gas industry in reaching greater heights.

I am confident that the latest edition of Petrotech will be a revelation on new realities. I would like to wish everyone associated with the Petrotech conference the very best and look forward to an enlightening and enlivening PETROTECH-2012.

Welcome to PETROTECH, welcome to India!
